RON DAVEY

Hi, I’m Ron. I joined Parkstone Camera Club several years ago to improve my photography skills and chat to likeminded people.

I first took an interest in photography when I was at school. Subsequently I was able to finance the purchase of my first camera, a second hand 35mm Kowa SLR from Dixons on hire purchase! No handy photography club in those days, everything was gleaned from the local library’s photography section.

I’ve had a passion for taking photos ever since. When I was using film I was always a bit disappointed with the results from the photo processors. The pictures never looked the same as I had in my mind when I took the photo. Digital imaging has been a revelation as for the first time I can get close to the image I was imagining.  These days I generally use a Nikon SLR but have also had surprisingly good results from the camera on my phone.

While I like colour I find I often prefer the result when printed as a monochrome image

I have found PCC to be a very friendly and sociable club with advice on hand for any queries that crop up.
