Christmas 2011 was an unhappy time for me when I lost my wife after 51 years of a very happy marriage,  I had to find something to occupy my time.  Being interested in nature and holiday photography I decided to buy a SLR and see what I could achieve.

I decided to join Parkstone Camera Club  and started to enter competitions with varied success.  It proved to be a very good move and helped enormously with the “learning curve”. I still concentrate on nature photography with a bias to macro work.   I now have quite a collection of cameras and lenses, most of which are put to good use and hopefully for a few more years to come.
